Napoli will have to improve their offer slightly if they are to sign Scotland football midfielder Billy Gilmour, a target for Antonio Conte.
Gilmour has been identified as a midfield target for new boss Conte this summer after Napoli lost two midfielders. Piotr Zielinski and Diego Demme to expiration of their contracts and are set to let Jens Cajusti go UFABET
Napoli had previously made a bid of €9.5m at the end of July. Which was quickly rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion. An offer of around €10-12m plus add-ons was then tabled. But it appears that the offer was not good enough.
According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli need to improve their offer. Adding a slightly higher figure, as Brighton are demanding €12m plus €3m in add-ons.
Napoli are expected to improve their offer in the coming days with sporting director Giovanni Manna continuing talks with Brighton. While Gilmour is open to a move away from the club and is only waiting for the two clubs to reach an agreement.
Gilmour started Brighton’s 2-1 Premier League win over Manchester United at the Amex on Saturday. And Napoli hope it will be the 23-year-old’s final game for the Seagulls.
Even earlier this week, new Brighton head coach Fabian Herzeler was expecting Gilmour to remain at the AMEX after the summer transfer window closed.
Meanwhile, Napoli director Manna has agreed a deal with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. But talks with Manchester United over Scott McTominay have yet to break ground.
