I've been to a couple etiquette classes (thank you, sorority life!) and think they paid off BIG time. I always know my bread is on the left and drink is on the right, thanks to my trusty 'b' and 'd's I make with my hands. I know which fork is which, where to lay my utensils to signal I'm finished, never to leave my spoon sitting in my bowl. I know to enter a chair from the right and exit from the left, and to set my purse at my left chair leg so I'll nudge it when I leave, as a friendly reminder not to forget it!

It all seemed silly when I was learning it, but you're right, the more business luncheons and dinners with clients I go to, the more it comes in handy!
